Scott Turow Talks About Authors, Bookstores, and Amazon

  • Bookends and Beginnings 1712 Sherman Avenue, Alley #1 Evanston, IL, 60201 United States (map)

We are proud to host internationally best-selling author—and Evanston resident—Scott Turow for this Evanston Literary Festival appearance. And we’re proud, not only because he’s an internationally best-selling Evanston author, but also because, as two-time president of the Author’s Guild, he’s been outspoken about some of the most critical issues in our modern publishing ecosystem, including Amazon’s ever-expanding dominance in the publishing and bookselling worlds and the effect that has on authors, on brick-and-mortar bookstores, and ultimately—you the reader. We were lucky enough to snag one evening of his time before he sets off on a national tour in support of his newest thriller, Testimony, which comes out on May 15. And, because everything he produces is fraught with suspense, the event will have a special surprise ending!
